To ensure that every Chicago resident has the opportunity to provide feedback on reform of the Chicago Police Department, the Attorney General’s Office is seeking input from the community on the draft consent decree during a 21-day period. This opportunity to comment on the draft consent decree will close on August 17, 2018.

Your input will then be reviewed and carefully considered by the Attorney General’s Office and the City and revisions will be made to the draft consent decree as appropriate. The Attorney General’s Office and the City will present the revised consent decree to the federal judge who is overseeing the Attorney General’s lawsuit. The judge may then hold hearings in court and will ultimately decide whether to approve the consent decree.
